Best Practices for Postmortem Recovery of Normal Human Tissue for Research
During the planning stages for caHUB and the Genotype Tissue Expression Project (GTEx), the NCI convened a working group to develop robust approaches for collecting research biospecimens and associated data from postmortem donors. The work culminated in an extensive document describing a set of best practices, as well as a publication summarizing the best practices. Links to these documents can be found below. These best practices served as the foundation for the biospecimen collection procedures undertaken for the GTEx project.
